U Grants For Neighborhoods Impacted By Stadium
Neighborhoods near the U of M encouraged to apply for Good Neighbor Fund grants Neighborhoods adjoining the University of Minnesota have a new resource for enhancing and protecting the beauty, serenity, and security of the areas that will be affected by the new on-campus football stadium. Neighborhoods are now able to apply for funding through the Good Neighbor Fund, which provides a vehicle for neighborhoods to respond to the stadiums impact on the community.
The Good Neighbor Fund is funded by an endowment from the Gopher stadium project, and approximately $69,000 in total funding will be available in 2008. Eligible applicants are member organizations of the Stadium Area Advisory Committee and their partners, and applications are due by April 1, 2008. For a complete list of eligible participants, fundable activities, criteria, and an application form, visit http://www.community.umn.edu/gnf.
Funding announcements are expected to be made around July 1.
