PRACTICAL FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT TOOLS AND STRATEGIES
What will we do if/when things don't go according to plan? The turbulent economy is making accurate budgeting and cash flow planning increasingly difficult for nonprofit leaders.
Nonprofits Assistance Fund and the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits are partnering to offer Planning for and Managing Uncertainty, a timely financial management training at various locations around the state. Michael Anderson, a trainer and loan officer, will deliver this workshop that addresses the principles of scenario planning and forecasting based on organizational structure.
About the Workshop
By stepping through scenario budget planning tools, participants will understand the questions to ask and triggers to implement different approaches. The session will incorporate effective cash flow projections as well. The tools and strategies discussed will prepare leaders to adapt to changing circumstances while minimizing negative impact and sustaining your mission. While based upon universally applicable principles, the session's content will be particularly beneficial to executive directors and finance managers of small- to mid-sized nonprofits. Attendees are encouraged to bring copies of their organizational budgets and cash flow projections and to share ideas with their peers during the session.
Participants will receive a budget scenario template and a cash flow projection template to work with during the session.
This is a two-hour workshop, but you are invited to bring your own financials and stay afterwards with any questions you might have.
