Our Palio festival is held in the spirit of the original Palio festival in Italy. Five neighborhoods come together for friendly competition and the enjoyment of fun games, food and music. Each neighborhood sports their mascot and color in a parade. Prizes are awarded. The five neighborhoods are East Isles, Kenwood, Lowry Hill, Lowry Hill East, and Cedar Isles Dean. East Isles' color and mascot is the blue raccoon. This event is held at Kenwood Park and is also a fundraiser for the park. It is held annually in early October.
Palio is always a fun event and even more so this year as there will be activities for adults--bocce and badmiton--as well as a fun parade and other things for children. Parade line-up is at 12:30 in Joanne Levin Triangle Park. Palio will be 1-3:30 p.m. at Kenwood Park. More info through Amy Sanborn at amysanborn18@gmail.com.
